Meet Lily

Hey! I’m Lily, a fourth-year kinesiology student here at York with a WITS Personal Training Level 2 certification! My love for wellness began with my own fitness journey 3 years ago. I started off like you, with my own personal trainer along with participating in group classes and now, I want to make that same positive influence on other people’s lives through physical activity. What matters most to me as a trainer is to provide my clients with lifelong skills, knowledge, and habits that can easily be done outside of our training time, as well as lead them towards a happier and healthier life. You can expect a warm, inclusive, and stimulating experience when training with me!

MEET MOHAMMAD

Hello, my name is Mohammad, a graduate student at York University and a WITS Level 2-certified personal trainer. It wasn't until late 2021 that I finally managed to develop healthy exercise and eating habits after years of binge eating and being overweight. Since then, I've cherished every single step of this journey, witnessing consistent improvements in both my physical and mental well-being. This experience ignited a profound passion within me to help others feel the same sense of transformation that I did. If you're in search of a trainer to provide motivation for your unique exercise regimen, I would be thrilled to be your companion in that process. With our professional team here, your health and safety are our top priorities, regardless of your exercise goals.

Meet Hamza

Hey! I’m Hamza, a Kinesiology and Athletic Therapy student here at York and a CanFit Pro certified trainer.  I’ve always been fascinated by how the human body works and functions, and this naturally translated to a love for fitness and healthcare. I understand that the gym can be an intimidating place, but I will make sure to help educate and empower my clients to take control of their bodies. Whether you want to lose weight, build muscle, or simply keep up with your friends during intramurals, I’ll be able to help you find a plan to get there!

Meet Darcy

I am a third-year Kinesiology student at York University, actively engaged in the Athletic Therapy program, and a WITS Level 2 certified trainer. With a strong athletic background, including experience as a high-level baseball player and hockey goalie, I understand firsthand the challenges of reconditioning the body post-injury. My journey has instilled in me a deep commitment to not only recover but to return stronger and better. As a W.I.T.S-certified personal trainer, I completed an internship at a rehabilitation-focused gym, where I got experience in recovery and tailored fitness programs to meet the unique demands of each client’s lifestyle. My approach prioritizes understanding the underlying reasons for each exercise and educating clients on the methods to achieve their goals. I believe that an effective training experience should serve as a foundational step towards complete confidence in the gym. If you are seeking a coach who offers an encouraging, educational, and positive experience, I am confident that I can help you achieve your fitness goals.

Meet Borna

Hello! My name is Borna Alavi, and I am pursuing a degree in Kinesiology and Health Science at York University. As a certified personal trainer through CanFitPro, my focus is empowering my clients to achieve their fitness aspirations.

With 6 years of weightlifting experience and 7 years of competitive boxing training, I possess extensive knowledge in strength and conditioning. My areas of specialization include bodybuilding, strength development, and customized stabilization exercises specifically designed for athletes.

My motivation to train stems from the belief that I have one body, a gift I received at birth, and my goal is to maximize its potential. I consistently seek to challenge myself and strive for improvement in every area of my fitness journey. I aim to inspire those I work with to cultivate a similar passion for fitness that has transformed my life since grade 8. My mission to guide you toward your goals while fostering a lifelong love for self-improvement. The opportunity to positively impact someone’s life motivates me to do the best for them.

MEET HOPE

Hello! My name is Hope! Before I came to York, I completed a two-year diploma in “Health, Wellness, and Fitness” at Mohawk College. I then earned my certification as a personal trainer with “CanFitPro”. I specialize in body re-composition, AKA fat loss, and muscle growth. My passion lies in bodybuilding as I have personally been following a bodybuilding style program for the last few years. Long-distance running has a very special place in my heart also, as I had a very successful track career in high school. So, I also have experience in the endurance athletics world if that’s something you are interested in! Making the journey towards reaching your goals both sustainable and enjoyable is my #1 priority. After working together for a while, you will not only notice amazing changes in your physique, but as well your attitude and mindset surrounding exercise. Let’s start investing in your future self!

Having once been new to exercising myself, I understand the challenges newcomers face and the need for proper guidance during that phase. Drawing from my martial arts background, I also understand the importance of pushing and creating curated challenges for fitness enthusiasts trying to reach a higher level of performance. I aim to be your motivator and supporter, no matter where you are on your fitness journey.

MEET AMANUEL

Amanuel’s health and wellness journey began in the early stages of his life as he developed a love for Soccer. As he continued his career competitively, he continued to struggle with injuries that made it difficult to play at the highest level without limitations. These injuries motivated him to pursue further education to learn more about prevention and recovery strategies. Throughout his undergraduate degree, as his knowledge about the physical side of injuries grew, so did his curiosity for the mental side of performance. Thus he choose to also pursue studies in Psychology to ensure he truly understood the mind to muscle connection so he can translate his experience to his clients to give them the best chance for success today, tomorrow and beyond.
